Media Sidebar Template Title
Your Media Sidebar Template Blog Post Summary will appear here. It should be a couple sentences about what this blog post entails. It appears above the content for the post. social media posts will appear in a column along the right side of the post. It also appears in the Blog Homepage List View. The summary should be between 300-500 characters.

Example Section 1: Introduction
This is the main body of the blog post. This is where you can put the bulk of your content. Within this text area, you can create inline links to external pages, as well as links to pages within the portal, or even to other blog posts. Any social media posts, audio files, or video files will be displayed in the column to the left.
Example Section 2: Compelling Communication
This second section of the blog post is where you’re likely going to want to compel the audience into reading more of the text by drawing them in with additional information. This additional information should build on whatever information you established in the first paragraph.
Building on previously-communicated information in a compelling way is the best method to encourage a reader to continue reading something--especially something educational, informative, or declaratory. It allows the audience’s understanding of a topic to grow at an incremental pace, which prevents them from being overwhelmed.
This incremental pace also creates curiosity in the audience. The slow reveal gives them time to process the information they’ve received and start to put it together, creating anticipation for additional information.
Hopefully by this point in the blog post you’ve already captured their attention enough that they’ll either finish the post in one sitting or return to it later to finish reading it. If you haven’t hooked them by now, it might be a good time to send out an email socializing the blog post so that they’re compelled to give it another look.
Example Section 3: Beginnings, Middles, & Ends
Human beings love when things come in sets of three, and communication is no different. We love having nice clean beginnings, middles, and ends. The human brain also loves stories, no matter how long or short, fictional or non-fictional. So always be sure that your blog posts have a beginning, a middle, and an end, no matter how long or short they are. This allows the learner to retain this knowledge as a story, not just random information, creating a more positive association with this knowledge and better information retention.
Failing to end your blog post on the right note can muddy communication and prevent the learner from properly retaining the information. That’s why it’s usually good to end your blog post on an encouraging note that reiterates the information you’ve already established.
Writing blog posts can be daunting, but anyone can find success writing them so long as they remember to communicate information to learners at an incremental pace in a way that provides a solid beginning, middle, and end. We at OneTrust wish you all the best in your E&C journey!
